DIGITRANS – Adrion regional policies for fostering of Digital Transformation of SME

Digitalization improves the efficiency of working processes and contributes to a reduction of the impact on the environment and a transition to a green economy. However, digitalization is still underutilized, with different regions of Europe (either EU or non-EU member states) having different support mechanisms to foster digitalization.

Project DIGITRANS connects 10 partners in 9 different countries, which are all supporting the digitalization of their regional SMEs. The partners represent different spheres, from industry, business support, and administration, to the academic sphere. This gives them a great opportunity to tackle the challenge of underutilization of digital technology from the point of view of different actors.

The objective of DIGITRANS is to accelerate the digitalisation of regional SMEs, improve policies that prioritise research, technological development, and innovation, and contribute to the expansion of innovation capabilities throughout the Adriatic-Ionian region.

The initiative will enhance regional policies that promote research, technological development, and innovation, alongside their regional counterparts in the ERDF and IPA partner regions. The goal is to establish a policy framework that is more effective in accommodating the requirements of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in regions with manufacturing activity and clever specialisation, through the implementation of improved instruments and measures.
